Highlights of 2022
I’m taking a few weeks away so this is the last edition of 2022. Aside from some down time, I’m looking forward to getting some time for deep work on several projects I want to move forward. I’ll be working to making my leadership competencies model into a visual format. I’m working to turn my leader chat series into a formal podcast and will be preparing more fantastic leader stories for 2023.
Of course, all of this means that 2022 is winding to a close. This was a year of incredible growth for me personally and my business.
A few highlights
Developing a new tool, Leadership Competencies. Leaders often wonder if they’re doing a good job. This tool is designed to give them a framework to help them assess how they’re doing as a leader and to identify where they might continue to develop their skills. Next year I’ll be doing more workshops with leaders using this framework.
Giving workshops online and across the world in places like New York, London, Colorado and San Francisco. It was an honor to help leadership teams work together better and help individual leaders grow their skills. I look forward to working with more leaders and leadership teams in 2023.
Talking with more than two dozen leaders for the leader conversation series. An archive of the first half of the year is here and the second half is here. Next year I’ll be turning the series into a proper podcast. I can’t wait to share it in this format.
Interviewing authors for the LeadDev Bookmarked series. This year I interviewed incredible folks like Sarah Drasner, Kim Scott, Heidi Helfand and so many more.
Giving my first in-person keynote in years at RubyConf. I was so nervous but it turned out to be an incredible experience. I’ll be talking at the RubyConf Home Edition. If you register you’ll get to hear my talk about how leadership is like being lost it the wilderness. You can chat with me about leadership. Hoping to have the chance to give more keynotes and fireside chats in the coming year.
